Gen-All Choir FAQs
Q: Do I have to sign up for the whole cycle?
A: Nope! Each week is a ‘stand alone’ session in which a whole song will be learned and you can pick and choose which songs / dates you want to join!
Q: Do people taking part need any experience, be able to read sheet music or have to prep anything ahead of time?
A: Also nope! We will put the song together from scratch during the session. The harmonies will be taught by ear, so there is no need to be able to read sheet music. We will project the lyrics so everyone can see them (and use fun moves for kids who don’t read yet!). The pieces we have chosen will be simple enough for total beginners but still fun for experienced singers of all ages.
Q: So you say all ages? Is this really true?
A: OK so here is what we anticipate:
Grade 2 to grade grown up - All in!
Singing in harmony, learning all the parts… the choir works.
Pre K - Grade 2 - Doing it their way!
Joining in with the melody, participating in the way that works for them and taking breaks when needed.
Babies to 3K - Along for the ride :)
The songs will most likely be a bit challenging for this age group. There will be a blanket in the center for them to play on during the session while their parents get some handsfree time to recharge with harmony. There will be some toys available but feel free to bring your little one’s favorite activity along as well!
Q: Do I need to have a kid to take part?
A: You do not - this is a family focused choir but anyone can join!
Q: Do me or my family have to take part in the video at the end?
A: Absolutely not! The final run though of the song will recorded for instagram. If you don’t want to be in the video you will have the chance to move out of shot and carry on singing!
Q: The ticket price does not fit in budget, do you offer financial aid?
