New choirs -What to expect from the pilot cycle
NYCP is starting two brand new choirs in December 2025!
Both of our new choirs will have the same fun, up-beat and joy-focused vibe as our current five choirs. You can expect to sing a range of repertoire while generally leaning towards the pop and indie theme that runs throughout our groups. We like to mix it up and incorporate well known bangers, edgy underground tunes and everything in between. MUNA, Maggie Rogers and Marvyn Gaye are all welcome in our sessions :)

The pilot cycle will focus on bringing people together to connect, have fun and make music, in a pressure-free environment. During the eight sessions, each choir will learn between three and five songs in five part harmony. The final session of the cycle will include an informal, ‘share-style performance’ / ‘open rehearsal’ in which a small, invited audience will be able to check out what the groups have worked on. In future cycles, the choirs will work towards performances that take place in music venues. For the pilot cycle, however, we want to give everyone the chance to get comfortable singing as an ensemble and getting to know each other.
